Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will the 2024 Belmont Stakes be run at Saratoga?
A: Yes, the running of the 2024 and 2025 Belmont Stakes will be held at Saratoga Race Course to allow for the uninterrupted construction of a new and re-imagined Belmont Park. The Belmont Stakes will be contested at 1 1/4 miles in 2024 rather than the traditional 1 1/2 miles due to the configuration of Saratoga’s main track.
Q: When is the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival?
A: The 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival runs from Thursday, June 6 through Sunday, June 9.
Q: When is Belmont Stakes Day?
A: The 156th running of the Belmont Stakes is on Saturday, June 8.
Q: When do tickets go on sale?
A: Tickets are on sale now for all four days of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival.
Please note that all tickets for Saturday, June 8 (Belmont Stakes Day) are completely sold out, aside from tables in the reserved picnic paddock area, which are being offered via random drawing. Verified resale tickets for all days may be available through Ticketmaster. Resale listings may reflect prices above face value.
Q: How can I enter the random drawing for Belmont Stakes Day picnic paddock tickets?
A: The drawing portal is open here. Submissions are being accepted through Friday, April 5. This is currently the only remaining opportunity to purchase Belmont Stakes Day tickets at retail.
Please note that the reserved picnic paddock area comprises only a small proportion (about 100 tables) of the total backyard footprint. For guests with general admission tickets, the vast majority of picnic tables (about 700) will be available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the Racing Festival, as is traditional during the Saratoga summer meet.
After the conclusion of the random drawing for Belmont Stakes Day, fans may secure tables in the reserved picnic paddock for the other three days of the Festival, June 6, 7 and 9, via Ticketmaster.com.
Q: Will the same items permitted at the Saratoga summer meet be allowed during the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival?
A: While the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival is temporarily relocated to Saratoga, the on-track policies will reflect many protocols ordinarily in place at Belmont Park. Accordingly, alcoholic beverages will not be permitted to be carried into the venue.
Folding chairs (one per guest), outside food, and soft drinks will be permitted. Coolers must be no larger than 12" x 18"; limit one per guest.

No refunds will be permitted based on such scheduling changes.
In the event that racing is cancelled at any time prior to park opening, or is taking place at a NYRA racetrack without permitted patronage to the general public, and NYRA does not intend to reschedule such racing events, NYRA will issue ticket credits or refunds solely for all tickets/pre-paid parking purchased directly through the NYRA Box Office, or a NYRA Sales Representative, for the specific event days that are affected by such situation. In such cases, tickets purchased via third-party vendors are not eligible for a refund from NYRA and customers must directly contact the third-party vendors for assistance.
